D2Oculus reads your items locally on its own — but connecting a free Groq key is what takes it from good to great. Once connected, Groq cleans up any errors from the local OCR read and normalizes messy stat wording into clean, structured data. It goes further, too: Groq identifies the stats that actually matter on an item and flags iconic chase items you won't want to miss — then powers all the advanced tools like Price Check, Gear Upgrade, Item Crafter, and every prompt in the library. In short, it's the AI brain that makes your results dramatically more accurate and useful. The free tier is more than enough for daily play, and you only set this up once.

Go to console.groq.com and sign up. It's completely free — no credit card required.
In the Groq console, click API Keys → Create API Key. Copy the key — you only see it once.
Open D2Oculus, click Settings, paste your key into the Groq API Key field, and click Connect & Test. Done — it remembers this every time.
Step 3
Open Settings and set things up your way. Everything lives in one place, and a quick welcome guide walks you through it the first time you launch the app. Here's what to dial in.
Toggle between Diablo 2 Resurrected and Path of Exile 2. Each profile swaps your character fields, currency and rune tier lists, tailored AI prompts, and even the app's visual theme.
Enter your class, build, league, and game mode. These details travel with every prompt, so the AI tailors advice to your exact character instead of handing you generic answers.
Paste your free Groq API key into the Groq field and hit Connect & Test. Optional, but it unlocks the advanced AI cleanup and analysis covered in Step 2 above.
